the halloween at beery’s went down a week or two ago and it was a good time. when we showed up there was karaoke going on with the locals which was painfully full of off key notes and feedback. mikey, who was dressed as a lady, took the mike and did some song from like 2003 or something. it was hilarious

the breeders, which i was a part of, was slotted to play first. we did and it was a good time. yes, the gals forgot some of the words in cannonball and we played it a little long but it was cool. i had a lot of fun doing it and it definitely increased my appreciation for the breeders because their songs are way more complicated than they seem

matt turned up in grandpa clothes, so basically his normal clothes hiked up slightly higher. he got some hair spray, eyebrows and a mustache and was done

lee ann had the cholo thing going on, it was damn good

this is us after our breeders set. laura, rachel, me, and anna

here are the fellows that did fugazi dressed as seinfeld characters. it wasn’t until tim walked in that you really understood the rest of the characters but once you did it was great

here’s duncan as hank williams. he sure did that shit well. he’s good with a guitar and no one else

the skull crusher guys did dag nasty, here’s hugo as brian baker. he’s got a samhain shirt on which is fitting because brian baker played on the first record… i wonder if that was his intent. skull crusher had both guitarists dressed like brian baker, that was great. too much stuff off of wig out at denko’s for me taste but it was a tight set. special note about this photo: look at doug’s juggalo costume in the back. that is mainly why i took this photo. me and andre couldn’t stop laughing every time we looked at him from across the room

the agent guys doing a really tight and well done fugazi set. seeing conor try and sing was funny, but the rest was really good

the members of boogie brains closed out the night with a misfits set. that was terrific. they even had the stand up bass going. it was super fitting to  have brittany as danzig cause she’s so tiny

here’s dre fist pumping along

joey ramone made a special appearance during the set and they did a ramones set. the worst part of the night was getting home super late but overall it was a good time. i love halloween.

brain slug on crust never sleeps

brain slug did a radio set and interview with reed at crust never sleeps recently

it was a little wacky that day because the online station’s server went down, so for people to listen live they had to go through this sort of roundabout way of doing it

we were sort of trying to figure out whether or not we should bother doing it that night or not and we just decided that if we did it that it would air again through the newtownradio site the following week

so we got into the incredibly hot room and start setting up. i realize one of my cymbal stands isn’t in my bag. no idea where it is, but i had to go down stairs where main drag is surprisingly open. i had  to spend some cash on a new stand but the guy couldn’t even ring me up for some reason. fuckin annoying

the set was pretty tight and what not but apparently that cord that zeke, the sound guy, is holding was fucked up so drew’s vocals are practically non-existant. that sucked the big one cause it would’ve been cool to throw on a tape and put out in the streets. oh well, bad luck is bad luck

so after the brain slug mix tape of weird hip-hop, punk, hardcore and metal, and a live set we were then interviewed by reed. that was pretty hilarious because andre was out of his element. he must’ve said “swag” about 30 times just cause he had no idea what else to say. when we left me and drew felt pretty good about it, but these two were pretty weirded out. in the end it turned out fine, or even good i guess. not as bad as they thought at least. if anyone wants to peep it it’s right here
